I Get it Now
Q: There are your thoughts, in the Annette locale. And there are my thoughts, in the Joshua locale. But there is no awareness here of the Annette thoughts. And it seems, from what you (and others) write, that you work under the assumption that there are multiple locales. How do you, in direct seeing, know that there are thoughts happening here in this Joshua locale, and in fact - that there's any locale in existence other than the Annette locale?
You suggest that I go with what I know directly. Well, as far as is
known here, there are only ever thoughts in the Joshua locale. A Joshua locale is seen in direct experience. But an Annette locale is not seen here in direct experience. It's just that I try and understand what
your experience is, and you seem to assume a Joshua locale. Do you
actually know that there is a Joshua locale in direct seeing, or is it
just a working assumption for you?
A: What is all this talk about the “me” locale for your thoughts? There is no “you,” and no “you locale.”
I don't know anything about thoughts. When I look at what is looking – when I put my attention on attention – no thoughts are appearing there. Nothing at all is appearing there. There is no world, no person, no body, no mind, no thought, no time, no movement. There is attention – consciousness – and that is all.
In order to "find" a thought, I have to turn away from the consciousness and towards "things" that this light of consciousness shines on. And when I do, I find that the "things," like bodies, and thoughts, are only potential, they are only possibilities, they are not
actualities. And everything is equally a possibility. Nothing is separated from anything else, as everything is equally possible in awareness. And so, where is a separate thing like a thought? I can't find it. Where
is a separate thing like a mind? I can't find it. All I can find is consciousness, and potential for everything. It's a void that is full.
So all the questions about thoughts and who knows they are there are based on a misunderstanding. Understand that there is not a separate thing called a thought. A thought does not exist. Look at consciousness and see that it is ALL, and nothing exists therein.
Q: Thanks again. I've read what you've written. Some of the pointers resonate and some don’t.
Either way, viewing it all from the “perspective” of consciousness – from the NOW – it is all okay just as it is.
For now!
A: Yes, very good! It is all okay just as it is for now, and for now, and for now. And is there ever anything else beside “now”?
You’ve definitely gotten my point.
