Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Thoughts, feelings, events. Everything just floats by. A thought comes, and there is no other thought for it to grab onto. And so it goes by.
Is it because you are telling yourself that there is “no person”? No, that’s just not an issue. There are only some thoughts and feelings happening in appearance. You are the ground. You are what stays, and all the rest just comes and goes. You are not the thoughts that arise, the feelings that arise, the events that arise, because they are not anything at all.
Is it an experience? Who is there to experience it? No one. And so it is just being. The mind is not “doing” any more. It can’t be called an experience. One is simply not identifying with the thought stories, the feelings, and the events. But there is no “one” to be identifying or not identifying with anything.
Anything arising – “I need to get this,” or any one of the infinite number of thoughts possible – is just story, and floats by. The mind stops believing stories, and breaks the habit of stringing thoughts together to make a story. And the rest is just a mystery.
Can you “just be”? It is not the mind that can “just be.” It cannot. But who you are can just be.
